Math Club membership is open to students in grades 5-8 who have fewer than ten points on their behavior cards for the current quarter.

Math Club provides opportunities for struggling students to get help, and strong students to be challenged with more advanced topics.  But more importantly, it allows them to enjoy Math during a less structured and more social time after school with their peers, a great way to improve their attitudes toward the subject.

The only requirement of the students is that they work on Math homework, Accelerated Math, play the online 24 Math Game or complete other practice work that we assign.  Membership is free, however donations of bag snacks, plastic cups and 2-liter bottles of pop to serve 20 students twice during the year are required. 

All we need from parents is written permission for your child to stay after school on Wednesdays for these purposes, and an understanding that you will arrange for transportation home from school at 3:30 on days they attend Math Club.  If there comes a day when your child needs to miss Math Club or leave sooner than 3:30, we will need your written permission (or a call to the office) to release him or her.  Students who miss two meetings without parent permission will not be permitted to return until the following quarter.
